is this only available in the U.S. right now?

I don't think it works for Macs yet. I know some people are thinking about it too, but right now, I think it only works for PC users.
I do use Windows Live Messenger quite a lot, but it only works for people living in US. I will wait till it becomes available to Canadian users.
I don't really use iChat. Similar to you, only you are in my iChat client, and I am not always on my Mac.

You don't need to do anything to make me happy. I don't really depend on people to give me happiness. I give myself happiness instead. =)
I give myself happiness by doing my best and not giving up. I like who I am, and I hope that's ok with you.
